Guest guest
Hey all, I'm a big fan of iced chai latte. Love the one at Starbuck's, made with Tazo chai mix. But I try to avoid it because it's not vegan (has honey in it). I would like to find a way to make a simple vegan version at home. Anyone have a simple method for doing this? I looked up some recipes online and most seem like they take so many ingredients. I'll go that route if I have to, but I'd like to see if there is something out there that's easy, vegan and doesn't take a lot of work. Alternatively, I'd be happy to hear about other mixes, such as the Tazo one, that is vegan and you just mix in equal parts with soy milk. I've tried the Oregon Chai one years ago and didn't care for it. Any suggestions of one that tastes good and is vegan? Thanks! Guest guest
What about using some good chai teabags to make some extra-strong tea, adding agave nectar and keeping it in the fridge, then mixing it with soy milk whenever the mood strikes? I love the Four O'Clock teas' black chai -- it has a really strong spicy flavour and it's organic and fair trade. Guest guest
Hi Jacqueline, I have this from vegweb: 1 Chai tea bag 1 cup soymilk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 3-4 dashes of cinnamon (or to taste) 1/2 - 1 teaspoon sugar Directions: On the stove combine soymilk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar and heat on low-med heat. This shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, you don't need to bring it to a boil, just get it hot. Place mixture in mug, add teabag to steep for 2-3 minutes and enjoy! You can also add other spices: nutmeg, black pepper, cloves, all spice, etc. Robin --- On Wed, 4/15/09, Jacqueline Bodnar <jb wrote: Jacqueline Bodnar <jb Chai latte Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 3:38 PM Hey all, I'm a big fan of iced chai latte.
