Guest guest
Greetings from cold and rainy Chicago! Several months ago, someone in this group suggested a vegetarian crockpot recipe exchange on cafe mom. Over the last few weeks, I have infiltrated a couple of " main stream " recipe exchange groups. For example, someone posted a recipe request for ch*n and dumplings, so I posted a recipe for veggie stew with dumplings (to my shock, the recipe was chosen as " best response " ). If you would like to join me in my stealth plan to wean mainstream America from meat, one recipe at a time, go to www.cafemom.com. Warning: the population is filled with small minded, close minded, crazy people and I advise not engaging them. Robin

Guest guest
Believe it or not, it's been pretty yucky in So. Cal., too. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but I love your idea, Robin. Do you have to post original recipes or can you post any recipe? Also, once you join, where do you go to find recipes and post them? Guest guest
Hi Andrea, You can post any recipe (there are veg groups, too). For example, someone will post a taco salad recipe, and I will post a veg version. Someone posted a recipe for potato salad that used four cups of mayo, and I posted a recipe that I love for grilled potato salad. It has gotten a little out of control, though and I may be becoming addicted. They have forum where moms can post questions on a variety of topics; a couple of times a day I find myself telling moms not ot put cereal in baby bottles, not to give a six month old bread or cheese, telling them to go to the libraray and get Super Baby Food; I have told moms looking to diet tips to stop dieting and eat healthy and set a good example for their kids: drink water, eat whole grains, eat fruits and veggies. On the plus side, I did pick up one (maybe two) clients for my career coaching business (that I was beginning to think was only in my head). Guest guest
Hi Robin, Sounds like it could be addictive and fun. I'll take any opportunity I can to promote the veggie lifestyle, even if I have to do it anonymously.
