I always liked nayonaise until I tried vegenaise...my gosh that stuff is

absolutely rich and delicious! :)

I thought that the vegenaise tastes more like real mayo and the nayonaise more

like miracle whip.  either way, yum, but not cheap.

There are two popular vegan mayos: Nayonaise and Veganaise.  People tend to love

one and hate the other.  My theory is that the Vegenaise lovers grew up with

Miracle Whip. Nayonaise (made with tofu) tastes like mayo (to me, anyway)

I've never heard of it. Praise diet mayo is vegan but it's just lots

of chemicals! What's nayonaise like?

We've made similar homemade vegan mayo. except we don't use hot sauce, we

add lemon juice and we used canola oil. It's ridiculously easy to make. not

sure on the cost, though, since we generally use all organic ingredients.

Interesting theory. I did indeed grow up with mayo; I don't think I've ever

tried miracel Whip and frankly you couldn't pay me. Never tried Veganaise,

nayonaise is so great. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who comes up with

theories like this.

Ive been thinking a lot about this cost comparison conversation and

also health. An organic vego diet would be cheaper than an organic

meat based one. If a family lived on white bread, sausages and mixed

frozen veg than it would be cheaper but if a family bought organic

meat which is far more expensive than say organic tofu or beans. Well

it is here anyway. I think vegan protein goes further than meat. For

example a 500g bag of chickpeas soaked will feed a family for 2 meals.

I paid $2.00 for chickpeas and what is the price of the same amount of

mince? I'd say $5? That usually does one spag bol.

Just a thought. Ange.

Hi Connie,

I saw this at Trader Joes and was considering asking someone to open a jar so I

could taste it (they are always happy to do this at TJs; they will also gladly

issue refund if you buy something and don't like it), but my teen was being a

PITA and I had to go.  What does it taste like?

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, try the Reduced Fat Mayonnaise. It's egg

and dairy free.

I think it tastes like mayonnaise! I don't think it tastes different. It's not

Miracle Whip-ish. I bought some recently for $2.99.
