Guest guest
Shay, After having 3 children I am in the same boat as you are. I was told by a plastic surgeon that the only way for the skin to go back to being taut is to have it removed via a tummy tuck. I am saving money to have the procedure after I am at my target weight. If someone knows another way, I would be more than happy to hear it too! It would save me $10,000. Guest guest
I wouldn't consider surgery or anything drastic, but I've heard of many people limiting their fat intake (8/1/1 rv, for example....10% fat) and losing weight very quickly. The skin may be saggy for a little while, but it takes time for the body to replenish and heal. The skin will heal if you're just patient, and it will eventually snap back into place! Just give it time! You can do it! Guest guest
There are risks involved in _being_ a patient, too, that don't come with being _patient_. Guest guest
Amanda, the plastic surgeon has to live, too, and your $10,000 would help him a lot. Bet keeping it would help you more, though. Keep saving and treat yourself to a wonderful vacation in the tropics where you can eat lots of yummy fruit! Guest guest
Thanks Tommie! I had seen this website a few years ago and was going to write my friend who sent it to me. Great minds run in the same channels!!!! I'm off to go camping this weekend so my fast has been postponed until July 1. This is a camp out I've wanted to do for a couple of years. It's a bunch of AA folks and it is in our beautiful Cascade mountains. And this is definitely outside my comfort zone for a few reasons. I'll write more later. Good luck and let us know how it goes. The mountains sound like a beautiful place to be. Enjoy!! Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , " SV " <shavig wrote: > > Thanks Tommie! Guest guest
Oh wow, I LOVE this. I have lived with a droopy, saggy belly for 21 years now. After the birth of twins that each weighed over 6lbs. All that on a pre-pregnancey weight of 110. This so makes sense though. Even though I am not overweight, and have never been, I still have the saggy sking on my stomach. But, when you pinch the folds together, it is thick. I remember wondering how all that could just be skin, but also wondering how it could be fat, when I have no fat anywhere else on my body. (wish I could pack it in my boobs, for I don't even have any there either) LOL. Now I want to get one of those things that measure the thickness of things. You know the thing that they use to measure fat(pinched together) on your body. Then I can watch and see how I am doing. But at 46 years old, I wonder if my skin will really bounce back. Fat or no fat. Tommie, what would we do without you. You are such an inspiration. Belinda rawfood , " Tommie " <jerushy wrote: > > There's hope for sure! Guest guest
-I fear this has been the reason I have bounced on and off of the raw food way of life.. Have been scared of the after effects of the sagging skin. Torn between the effects now as being overweight if not staying raw and sagging skin if staying raw and losing the 100+lbs needed to lose. Thanks so much for that site. Has anyone ordered the book or ebook? was it worth the money?? Since money is so slim to none nowadays.. I want something I can use...know what I mean?? Guest guest
Aw, now, Belinda! I'm blushing! Let us know what you find out with the calipers. I've always heard about " pinch an inch " . I'm still a long way away from losing enough fat for my skin to get " tight " and it may never since I'm 62. However, I'll take what I can get and I'm past the age where I'd want to be showing a lot of skin anyway. Guest guest
Debbie, in all honesty, I would be more afraid of the effects of the 100+ pounds on my heart, liver, blood pressure, etc. Saggy skin isn't pretty but it isn't dangerous, either. I haven't ordered the book or ebook since I'm still in the process of losing the fat. I'm at 129 from 187.5 a little over a year ago. Since I'm hypothyroid, it's taken me a little longer than it does others but I'm getting there! And it's the healthy way. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Lou Corona helped a man lose over 300 lbs and to prevent him from having lose skin problems, he had the guy jump on a rebounder daily for 5 minutes a day for the first week or so and then gradually work his way up to 20 or more minutes a day. I have been recommending this for many of my clients and it works. Guest guest
You know, I can't believe this discussion on loose skin didn't take us back to our old conversation on herbal body wraps! Just thought it was odd it didn't come up. The recipe for the body wrap is stored in the file section of this group. (I think.) Leah Tommie <jerushy wrote: There's hope for sure!
