Dear Khalid,

It is unfortunate that we are not following the teachings of great religious

preachers.Each and every religion has propagating the message of

Love,Compassion,brotherhood etc apart from others.

The Voiceless creatures deserve much care and love as they are a sort of

handicapped,but the animals are sacrificed(no it can not be sacrifice,as it is

not voluntry,it is cold blodded murder)at Mandirs,Masjids or other places in the

name of religion.God will not please with blood smeared prayers.

Your attempt is saner to motivate People to shun this practice and make people

aware about showing their love compassion for the fellowbeings,man and animals

both.

Cruel and atrocity religious custom

I have been much in vexation since morning because millions of cows,oxen,

camels, sheep and goats will slaughter tomorrow on the day of Eid ul Azha,

after the day of Haj in Saudia Arabia,and 1st Jan,2007 in Pakistan .

It is a cruel and atrocity religious custom. I think it is a massacre of

animals and it as a genocide of innocent and faithful,friutful animals.

The Animal save Movement Pakistan not only strongly protests this debacle,

terrorist terrible uncivilized operation, but also wants to abolish it.

I fully endorse the views of Khalid Mahmood Qurashi

President,Animal Save Movement of Pakistan, and Dr. Sandeep Kr Jain.

 

Many young and educated muslim youth whom I know personally, may

also share the views which my friends have expressed, although they

may not come out in the open and cry out loud because of the

reactions that may lead them into controversy in the society they

live in.

 

Unfortunately, what I feel is that atleast in India untill and

unless we get hold of the Shahi Imaams, and other senior Islamic

Scholars to speak out for animals, this annual masaacre shall

continue. We simply cannot expect the followers of either Islam or

Hinduism, or even Christianity etc to stop the killings in the name

of God without the intervention of leaders and scholars from their

own community taking exceptions and asking them to do so.

 

A majority of people who follow any religion are RELIGIOUSLY

UNEDUCATED and follow blindly what their leaders have to say.

There is no scope of any OBJECTIONS or QUESTIONS to be raised as far

as religious do`s and dont`s are concerned.

There is always a fear amongst the public of inviting a FATWA or

being condemned in the society by the religions leaders which keeps

them away from raising OBJECTIONS or QUESTIONS on religions maters.

 

But I do see some hope in the initiative that Dr. Chinny Krishna has

taken by throwing a workshop on 'Religion and Sacrifices', at the

AfAc in Chennai in January next year.

It will be good to hear the religious leaders speak and specifically

point out the phrases and verses which make religious sacrifices

OPTIONAL to its followers, and many other compassionate facts.

 

Another very important thing is to get that Workshop publicity

enough publicity. I do not know if the media will be able highlight

the output of the workshop in details, if not then the various

leading NGO`s and individuals can have a page on their websites

dedicated to " RELIGION AND SACRIFICES " so that the information

exchanged is there 24X7.

Anything on the internet spreads like wildfire.

Plus with more and more people hooking on to the internet, I am sure

someday those participating in Religious sacrifices and killings

will become a minority.

totally agreed. i never go out home on the ied day. i turn on the music loud in

my room afraid if i hear anythin....i just wondering if theres anyway i can

educate ppl about this?

by the way may i pass this to my vegetarian mailing list? im not yet vegetarian

having animals killed in a inhumane way is already sickening, but showing

animals being killed in public and brainwashing ( " educating " )the whole

community that " its good " is worse.

i wonder if theres any campaign abt this ied day?

nobody here will do it or those ppl who do the ied day will come and

demonstrate or such thingy.
