A surrendered United Liberation Front of Assam (

ULFA ) militant in Assam's Sivasagar district

allegedly shot at two wild elephants on 30th

December' 2006 .

One elephant is reported dead, and the other injured

is in a very critical condition. The motive behind

the shooting of the elephants has not been

ascertained as yet. Will update with more details

later.
