Have come to know through some source that a local newspaper 'U

Mawphor' in Meghalaya has reported that 150 dogs have been killed by

the local public in three different localities of Jowai in the state.

This followed as a result of the death of a person due to rabies in

that area.

The news report is also believed to state that about 25 to 30 stray

dogs have been caught by the Municipal authorities from the market.

The newspaper house is based in Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.

I have tried contacting their office, but no one is picking up the

phone: +91 364 2548328.

Can anyone confirm if this report is true ?

Also their website http://www.mawphor.com opens in local 'Khasi'

language, which I fail to understand.

Shall update on AAPN if I come across with further info on this.
