Guest guest
From Suparna- Yes, it is worrying about the animals - there are people who have claimed their animals but there are about 200 with us........we are trying to trace them. We have dogs in all the shelters in Bangalore. We have been in discussion regarding them. Some of their sources are known. Some of them will be given to villages that we work with. We don't know where they originated from - the vans just brought them in and we housed them till we could not manage any more. The drive was started on the 4th and ended on 10th - the Governor and everyone was approached when the drive became unrestrained and completely chaotic on ground. Instead of carefully picking up, they just started picking up all sterilised dogs on the road. Maneka Gandhi and others have been working overtime from Delhi. The killing in Bangalore has stopped but not the districts and other towns in Karnataka........I don't know how the administration plans to resume the ABC progamme. We will need to think may issues through before we start the programme again, since NGOs have gotten linked with ABC programme - public funding - corruption- wrong and criminal media reporting- human life etc. CUPA is issuing legal notices to all the local and English media for erroneous and inflammatory news reporting for creating hatred towards the animals.
