Guest guest
We get some kind of kids magazine from Peta2 (hotest vegan stars, and other garbage). New Moon is an amazing magazine for girls: www.newmoon.com Robin --- On Tue, 12/30/08, sazra73 <sazra73 wrote: sazra73 <sazra73 Penpals for kids Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 10:22 AM Hi, I have a 10yo daughter and she would really like a penpal/email pal. We both thought it would be neat if she could find someone who is living in a vegetarian family, so she wouldn't feel as if she were the only one. We have looked online a little, but the only sites that I feel are trustworthy have been for schools. I'm wondering if anybody knows a resource for this. Or maybe even has a child around the same age who would like a penpal? Actually, on a related note - we tried to get her the PETA kids magazine (Grr) several times but have never received anything - anybody have any experiences about the kid's resources from PETA? Guest guest
I have also looked for a penpal for my daughter (age 9). She would love to have a veggie penpal! If you'd like you could email me and I could send you our address. They could also just email. Let me know. We did receive Grr! for a while, but we haven't gotten any in quite a while.. May be due to an angry email I sent them about an email we received from them which led to a site that I considered basically pornagraphic.(sigh) Jill jillben2008 --- On Tue, 12/30/08, sazra73 <sazra73 wrote: sazra73 <sazra73 Penpals for kids Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 4:22 PM Hi, I have a 10yo daughter and she would really like a penpal/email pal. Guest guest
Aloha, I have a 9 (almost 10)yr old daughter. She would love to have penpals with similar interest. We are vegan, live on the Big Island of Hawaii, homeschool, do alot of hiking and ocean play. We have dogs, cats, chickens and peacocks. Email me and we can swap email or snailmail addresses. Great idea!
Guest guest
My daughter, Ruby is 91/2 and attends the local Steiner (Waldorf) school here in Queensland, Australia. I am sure she would love a veggie penfriend too. Maybe we need to coordinate something? Guest guest
Happy New Year Everyone! Our son is almost 10. He says that he would be delighted to have the opportunity to talk to other vegetarian kids his age. We are vegan and in Bloomington, Indiana, a very nice place to be vegan. This is such a good idea!! -Elyse --- On Tue, 12/30/08, sazra73 <sazra73 wrote: sazra73 <sazra73 Penpals for kids Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 11:22 AM Hi, I have a 10yo daughter and she would really like a penpal/email pal. Guest guest
Hi! I have a suggestion... would you want to email me privately with names, ages and email addresses of children who want a pen pal; I'll compile a list, and then, say, after a week or two, anybody who would like that list can email me and I'll send it to them? If anybody who has already emailed me does NOT want their child on the list, let me know. If the consensus is " yes, " I will get started on that. I know my daughter is really excited - she is already typing up a " hello " email to send out. There aren't many vegetarians around here (actually, none) and although she likes the concept, she is unhappy being different from all the other kids and having them make fun of her. Also - whoever recommended the newmoon.com website - thank you, it looks great! Guest guest
Unfortunately, my 10yo is uninterested. (Which surprises me.) However, I wanted to suggest that perhaps VRG or a member here could host a vrgkids at list. We'd probably want it to be private, unlike this list, meaning someone would have to act as moderator to facilitate access to new members. Guest guest
There already is such a group that a mom on one of the veg*n lists I'm on started called veggie tweens. It's at veggie_tweens . The list isn't very active but definitely could be with all the folks on this list who are expressing an interest in their kids being pen pals.
