Four victims have reportedly suffered severe injuries. In the panic following the incident, the locals reportedly beat the dog to death. Just last week, after students of a Women's College in Koti were bitten by stray dogs, the AP Human Rights Commission had intervened. The commission had said that the municipal authorities were not doing enough to control the dog menace on the city's roads and had opined that merely vaccinating and sterilizing stray dogs is not going to solve the problem. Though animal rights activists expressed outrage at this suggestion, they have themselves said that dogs prone to violence can be put to sleep.
