Guest guest
Hi everyone, I really need some help here with table foods Background. I am on the McDougall plan ( 12 days) and am happy with that for life. I am trying to keep my baby on a vegan meal plan with plenty of natural fats ( avacado, nut butters...) HOWEVER: he is on a milk based ( lactose free formula watered down) he drinks 4 - 8oz sippy cups a day. It is a long story but to make it short this was the one formula he tolerated as a baby. my husband gave him 8oz of silk soy milk a few months ago and he threw up like 4 times. I think he might be allergic and I'm afraid to try it again. My child is almost 16mths old. He is a bit behind though in most everything by a couple of months but he is fine. I still have him on stage 3 foods with the edition of the super baby porridge ( beans and brown rice) I don't really measure how much I'm giving him at one meal but it is about half a jar of one type ( like sweet potatoes) and mixed with an equal amount of the super baby porridge and half a jar of a fruit. Then of course his formula I have given him whole grain toast with peanut butter and that went well and I have also given him cut up bits of pasta with vegan marinara sauce and that went well. He likes steamed carrots but not steamed potatoes or broccoli but I'm going to keep trying He likes oatmeal. The only other thing that I can think of that I want to give him is pita with a hummus and add tahini to it. other then that I am lost on what to feed this baby. I want to get him off his formula too but I don't know what to give him. I make my own soymilk from beans at home but it doesn't have the " extra's " added in. I am afraid to give him any soy and I'm not sure I want to give him fake meats until he is older. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
