Guest guest
Hi all, I heard back from Robin Robertson, cookbook author this morning about people freely posting her recipes onlie. Here is what she said about doing it without the permission of the author: " This issue is a double edged sword. You are correct that posting an author's published recipe without permission is technically a copyright violation. However, it's one that is rarely enforced by authors or publishers simply because the practice is widespread and rampant over the internet. My personal preference, of course, is to be asked permission to reprint a recipe with the understanding that the source will be listed with the recipe (and hopefully a link provided to my website or to Amazon to buy the book). At the very least, I hope anyone reprinting an author's recipe will at least credit it as such, even if they didn't get permission. Anything less is entirely inappropriate.
