Among the delegates, 100 would be from India, 150 from other Asian countries and 50 from Europe and North America. * *There would be technical sessions on global issues, role of government agencies, farm animals, animals in research, fund raising, religion and animal welfare, wildlife, captive animals, companion animals and rescue centre operations. * *Former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi would deliver the keynote address, he said. * *Answering a question on street dog menace, he said only animal birth control could solve the problem. The ABC programme was a success in Chennai and the Blue Cross was ready to provide training to local groups for such programmes. * *Animal activist and actress Amala Akkineni, who was also present, said the Centre should provide more funds to the Blue Cross as it had to allocate money to more than 2,000 organisations in the country for protection of animals.
