Raw Youth, Raw Vigor

 

 

Today most Americans' lives are affected every day by negative

stressors, chemical and other environmental pollutants, depleted food

sources, and a lack of adequate exercise. However, the most

damaging aspect of the American lifestyle of work first and live

later is the Standard American Diet, or SAD.

 

SAD, a diet filled with artery clogging trans-fatty acids, chemically-

laced processed, low nutrient foods, excessive white sugars and

flours and non-organic salt, disrupts our body's pH balance, creating

a condition known as acidosis. Scientific researchers believe

acidosis may be one of leading causes of aging and many degenerative

diseases, like arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

 

Maintaining a normal pH balance is our body's first line of defense

against premature aging and disease. We must strive to maintain a

delicate acid /alkaline balance to achieve health, wellness and

youthful vigor.

 

The more acidic we are the more the body attempts to compensate and

try to restore pH balance. Our body will begin to restore balance by

taking calcium, one of the most important minerals necessary for

healthy cellular function, from our teeth, bones and tissues.

Calcium increases the alkaline pH level while decreases the acidic pH

level.

 

However, if this compensation continues for an extended period, a

depletion of bone mass can occur, leading to osteoporosis and other

diseases. In fact, cellular function can be impaired to such a

degree by this calcium leeching that our cells' membranes are unable

to release toxins or absorb nutrients well. Many researchers have

also linked the development of cancer to an overly acidic pH.

 

What is an Ideal pH Level?

 

Levels of acidity or alkalinity are expressed as a number between 1

and 14, with 1 representing the most acidic condition, and 14

representing the most alkaline. 7, the pH of pure water, is neutral,

neither alkaline nor acidic. The abbreviation pH stands for " power of

hydrogen, " meaning the concentration of hydrogen ions. Health store

bought litmus paper can assist in establishing bodily pH with saliva

or urine.

 

The ideal pH level for human blood is 7.43, just slightly alkaline.

A reading above 7.50 would indicate a too alkaline state; a reading

below 7.43 would indicate a too acidic state.

 

Here are a few symptoms of an overly acidic pH:

 

Chronic fatigue

Excessive stress

Chronic aches

Mental confusion

Frequent colds or infections

Sudden weight gain

Difficult weight loss

Weak kidneys

Skin problems

Headaches

Constipation

Indigestion

 

You need to rebalance your pH balance by reducing acidity throughout

your body. The most effective and easy way of creating an alkaline

environment is by eating raw, nutrient-rich leafy greens and green

juices. Leafy greens like kale, Swiss chard, collard, dandelion,

beet and mustard greens, along with spinach have high levels of

readily digestible calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium, minerals

that help create an alkaline environment in your body. Wheatgrass,

one of the most nutrient-filled organic foods available, ingested as

a juice will also bring your body back to an alkaline state – QUICKLY.

 

To maintain an alkaline environment follow these general guidelines:

1. Manage stressful situations and emotions gently, effectively.

 

2. Eat 80% live, raw foods, mostly vegetables and fruits, but also

seeds and nuts. Focus particularly on organic raw leafy greens and

green juices, recipes for which are available from many raw food

sites and books.

 

3. Avoid acidic foods like meats, dairy, processed grains and foods,

non-organic salt, sodas, coffee, alcohol and other artificial

stimulants.

 

4. Use a natural colon cleanser (Colosan) or do enemas regularly,

while scheduling as needed high-colonics with a respected colonic

therapist.

 

5. Drink 16 ounces of neutral pH spring water daily.

 

Once you bring your body's pH balance back to a more alkaline state

with living, nutrient and enzyme rich foods you will again experience

the vigor and health of youth. You will experience a natural

vitality, a higher metabolism, and fewer external or internal signs

of aging. Raw foods will make age become a memory, long lost.
