Bhavnagar University which is self-explanatory. In benefit of birds and

nature it is necessary we all put forward our objection before Hon. Prime

Minister and Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat. Please write your own letter or

email with your objection or at least forward following letter as soon as

Reg: Request to protect the lake at Bhavnagar, Gujarat

 

 

 

Respected Sirs,

 

 

 

Bor Talao in Bhavnagar is a huge wetland which harbors thousands of

migratory birds including many threatened bird species. About 18 acres of

submerged area of this lake is in the survey no. 472 which is claimed by

Palitana Sugar mills to construct housing colony. The said land has a

constructed bungalow known as Sundravas bunglow which is at present owned by

Gujarat Forest Department. Supreme Court has ordered the Collector and the

Municipal Commissioner to hand over the land along with the Bungalow to

Palitana Sugar Mills.

 

 

In benefit of nature and conservation I most humbly request you to do

necessary to protect the lake.

Dear All

Bhavnagar City is located in Gujarat State of India.

BorTalao is a huge wetland which harbors thousands of migratory birds which

includes many of threatened bird species. About 18 acres of submerged area

of this lake is in the survey no. 472 which is claimed by Palitana

Sugarmills to construct housing colony. Govt. of Gujarat is silent in this

regard. The said land has a constructed bunglow known as Sundravas bunglow

which is at present owned by Forest Department Govt. of Gujarat!! Supreme

Court has ordered the Collecter and the Commissioner of Bhavnagar Municipal

Corporation to hand over the land along with the Bunglow to Ms. Palitana

Sugar Mills the news clippings are there on the web page of Gujarat Samachar

and Divya Bhaskar Ahmedabad adition.

 

On behalf of our NGO, Dharmakumarsinhji Nature Conservation Society,

Bhavnagar, we have dropped letter to President of India, Chief Justice of

India, Governer of Gujarat, CM of Gujarat etc to protect the lake.

I request all the members of the natural history discussion group to help us

protecting the wetland by posting the letters to all the above mentioned

dignitaries of India and Gujarat.
