Guest guest
Dear Friends, Some real good news for Shahrukh Khan ( SRK ) fans. SRK in an interview to ZOOM TV, a national television channel yesterday has expressed his personal opinion that he does not like playing games or riding on animals. He says it is something he does not enjoy even while shooting for films. This statement of SRK comes as a good signal which can help bring an end to the continuing animal rights abuses in India. Both by the Bollywood industry and also the 'Elephant Polo' matches for the rich and famous. I am sure now that SRK has made his point clear, other Bollywood celebrities shall follow the same principle. It is of course high cociety to be kind to animals rather than use them for entertainment, thats the message SRK seems to send across. It may be noted that a few days after the 'Cartier Elephant Polo Cup of Jaipur' conclided,TAG HUEUR : a luxury watch manufacturer along with the TAJ GROUP OF HOTELS organised horse polo and elephant polo matches at the Jaipur Grounds in New Delhi, with Bollywood stars, industrialists and other celebrities. SRK was there to grace the occasion, since he endorses TAH HUEUR as an ambassador. But unlike many of his colleagues he stayed away from either playing horse polo or climbing up an elephant there to play elephant polo and instead defended the rights of animals and honoured them with his opinions. This action of Shahrukh Khan goes to show that despite his contract to TAG HUEUR, he gave a statement saying that he does not personally approve 'elephant polo' or any other games or riding of animals for passion. Well done Shahrukh, this is a big blow to all the dumb and lesser known celebrities and the elephant polo organisers. SRK`s actions are yet another step closer in seeing elephant polo as a part of history. Also would like to add that the ELEPHANT POLO SPONSORS LIST on website: www.stopelephantpolo.com has been updated and we all can now write to the sponsors individually. The list includes all the global sponsors so far, without whom elephant polo would simply not be reality. Thanks, Azam Siddiqui
