Hi,

This is really good news. Thank you for your update. I would also like to

know if you could give us an update on the situation with the killings and

mistreatment of the dogs and cats in Beijing and other parts of China for

controlling rabies.

Have there been any improvements or developments? Have officials responded

to our many protests too? would appreciate a reply.

Regards,

Patricia

Hi Jill, Thank you very much for your update. What happens to the dogs bigger

than 35cm. Are they killed? It's not their fault that they are big, obviously.

Is something being done for them. Thank you.

Patricia

...the Govt departments told us that they were " confiscating " the larger

dogs and that owners could visit them twice a week in the Pound. We

visited the Pounds earlier this month which were of acceptable

standards. However, obviously this is not an acceptable solution

following such a reactive confiscation and we continue to ask for an

amnesty in order that these dogs are returned to their owners to be

muzzled out in public areas (with humane muzzles we are donating) to die

out in a grandfather system whilst new regulations are implemented. In

addition, the regulations as they stand are seriously flawed by limiting

size of dogs rather than breed and this too needs to be addressed. Jill.
