Guest guest
There has been quite a bit of excitement owing to a misstep that I made yesterday, albeit with the best of intentions. I posted a few holiday recipes from a book, which I duly referenced. Although I normally prefer to see a book before I buy it, to see if it contains anything that I will be willing to make, I bought this one. I just had a good feeling about it. When I read the recipes, I was impressed with the collection which Judy had edited. I wanted, in some way, to publicize this work. Simply posting and saying I like d the recipes did not seem to be enough, as there is no way to see what is in the book without purchasing it. There were several that I thought might be do-able for most of the folks on the list, and I posted them, clearly citing the book's name. I thought that my action might do double duty– providing some recipes to the list and giving publicity to the book itself. Unfortunately, my most well-meaning action went awry. I upset the author of the book. I have been in contact with the author of the book; I have apologized to her, and explained my reasons. As an author, I understand the issues inherent in copyright. In posting those recipes, I truly did believe that I was complying with current Internet copyright law. Furthermore, I truly did want to drive more business to the Raw Food News Magazine's site. Unfortunately, the author of the book did not understand my motives, and became upset. Within an hour of my original recipe post, at her request, I removed the ecipes which I had taken from her book from the files. I have apologized directly to the author of the book for my transgression, and I have also apologized to the owner of this list. Now it is time for me to apologize to all of you whose happy moments reading this list have been traumatized by this event. Margaret
Guest guest
Dear Margaret, I really can hear that you were trying to share something good in your excitement for sharing the world of raw food. I'm sorry for you that the owner of the book didn't understand that. The world is often competitive and unkind. I appreciate what you do. I see you on here all the time sharing and giving helpful advice. I hear your heart in this. Annie
