Guest guest Posted July 15, 2007 Report Share Posted July 15, 2007 * FMD OUTBREAK IN KERALA ZOO* To, The Secretary AWBI Chennai Sir, The Trivandrum zoo in Kerala has been closed due to an unprecedented outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease [FMD] among the zoo animals. The zoo authorities has not released the exact data regarding the number of animals died, culled, or quarantined. There were allegations that the doctors were irresponsible in diagnosising the disease in the early stages. We already have send complaints to the Zoo authorities and the State Govt. for this grave act of negligence. I request you to press for a proper enquiry into this matter and punish the culprits.
