Update on Chongqing dog cull

Is there nothing else we can all do?? This is horrible.

 This is the info I just got--everything is up in the

air................. : - (( " Regarding the dog killing in Wanzhou,

the government said it is the Disease Control Center that is in charge,

the latter said they know nothing. From a SOS letter of a dog owner to a

volunteer in Tianjin yesterday, the owner said the information they've

got is that the government team (with the policeman and many departments

people) will use the force to open every family which has pets. And no

matter the dog is healthy or has had rabies bacterin injection, all will

be killed, including the cats. If the owner tried to hide their pets

under the beds, they'll p ull them out and kill them in front of the

owner's eyes! Not to mention the homeless animals. They'll be caught and

killed with electric shock - that's what they called " the humane way " . I

realy doubt we're back to the dark age. Where are you, God?! Will keep

you posted if I ever got the answer from the Wanzhou government. It's

the end day of most of the animals there, my God.

Another update - Christie, our China Relations Manager just called the

Wanzhou Government who told her that they had no plans to enter people's

houses and kill the dogs. However, they have already begun the cull and

two dogs have been killed in the street. The Chongqing Small Animal

Protection Association is apparently in Wanzhou now, making a last ditch

effort to save the dogs. Jill
