Guest guest
I saw this in our local Pennysaver paper. Again, these can be used for Chanukah, Christmas, or any occasion you'd like. These would probably also make good gift tags or placecards. Because they contain glue be sure not to eat them! Can anyone think of a substitute so that they WOULD be edible? (Although you'd probably want to add other ingredients such as sugar to make them more palatable.) The dough should be as thick as cookie dough. Add a bit of water if dough is too stiff. Knead dough. Put dough back into bowl and let sit for at least a half hour. Remove dough and knead again to make sure it's smooth. Flatten or roll the dough between two sheets of waxed paper until it's between 1/4 and 1/8 inch thick. Cut out desired shapes. Use the straw to punch a hole in the top for the ribbon for hanging. Gently place the shapes on a piece of clean waxed paper and let dry for 3 - 5 days. Turn them over a couple of times a day so they will dry evenly.
