Guest guest
These looked interesting. The recipe appeared in ad advertisement from one of our local supermarkets (Tops.) They can be used either as gift tags or as placecards, as you wish. I guess after you open your present, or eat your dinner, you can eat the tag or placecard too. Of course, these would also be used for Christmas or any other holiday gift or dinner. In a large bowl beat together flour and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk. Add flour mixture and continue beating until a soft dough forms. Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease two baking sheets. On a floured surface, roll out dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out cookies with desired shape cookie cutters (holiday or other.) Reroll trimmings to make more cookies. Place cookies on baking sheets. Using a chopstick or drinking straw punch a hole at the top of each cookie. Bake cookies until golden, about 5 - 8 minutes. Place on wire rack to cool. Divide and color frosting with food coloring as desired. Fill plastic bag with frosting, snip one corner and pipe frosting onto cookies to decorate. Loop ribbon through the hole and tie into a bow. You can also use these as placecards, in rectangles or any shape you desire. Source: " Creative Cook's Kitchen (Appeared in Tops Supermarket circular.)
