Guest guest
Dear Madam, I am posting your note in its entirety on AAPN as you asked, along with my note that I appreciate your work for elephants in Jaipur. I trust this is OK. The culling proposition has now been officially challenged in print and I am posting it separately alongwith a copy for your perusal. Yes, we must meet in Madras and exchange views. I wish you well. Best wishes and kind regards, Sincerely yours, On 12/16/06, Christine Townend <christownend wrote: > Dear , I completely agree with you that killing Indian > elephants is not a solution. Yes, we do need to find time to meet together at Asia for Animals conference. You have not hurt my feelings. I understand your view. With best wishes, Christine Townend. I respect your work and would like to meet you and discuss how we can all work together to help the elephants we all care about. Could I post your message on AAPN so that people could get to know your feelings on the subject? I wish you well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Guest guest
Elephant Polo or any other form of finding elephants for human entertainment is in no way a MINOR ISSUE as compared to culling. Culling is a one time death and I am against it, but Elephant Polo etc are means of making the elephant die many deaths as it lives. From training to playing polo, from a lush green habitat to a 40 plus degree environment in Jaipur an elephant dies many deaths in the process. If only we understand their cries. Guest guest
Dear Azam, Thanks for writing. I was and remain opposed to elephant polo and other circus like events and also culling. Which is why I am in favour of a dialogue on a platform where we can all have a voice and exchange views. I think we are all agreed on that.
