Guest guest
R.A.W. is a Activist Group/association founded to work for animal rights and welfare of animals . R.A.W. protects and speaks for all animals from abuse , beating , ill-treatment , captivity of birds , over-loading and against any cruelty . The two main objectives which R.A.W. strives to achieve is a federation of all the organizations working for the cause of animals and secondly is educational awareness because it is the most important thing because the habit of looking , loving animals and conserving habitat needs to be instilled in to the young , if animals and humans who are dependent on them are to survive at all . As there are many organizations working differently in different places throughout India but only their (Federation)togetherness would bring a little difference and this difference would become a revolution in the field of animal welfare . R.A.W. team rescued 7 cobras from city palace area jaipur from three snake-charmers . The team of five was headed by Anupam jain (President-Founder) along with Himanshu vyas , Rituja shrivastava , Abhishek kasliwal , Kaamil and were assisted by Manak chowk thana police . The snakes were not in good condition there fangs had been cut by the charmers and were kept without water from a long time . The snakes were left in the Jhalana forest area under the wildlife department. . Rohit briefed the media saying All snakes are carnivorous – in nature they eat animal food .The snakes are kept thirsty and hungry by charmers for days on end , especially during Nagpanchami for days prior to the festival - The thirsty snakes would drink , just about anything , even a soft drink , to quench their thirst , All snakes are allergic to milk which they cannot digest as it not being there natural diet and die in two or three days due to pneumonia , lung infection, other bacterila diseases etc . l Anupam Briefed the media saying Snakes play an important part in the cycle ,they contain the rodent population which eats up our 10% of India's total food grain produce . Snakes are wild animals who belong to the wild and any wild animal cannot be used for entertainment under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 Under section 9 , 39 , 40,44 ,45 , 49 and 51 violating it would be a punishable offence of Rs.10000-25000 or a imprisonment of 3yrs minimum............... and also under PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS ACT 1960(ACT 59 OF 1960) Under section 21 & 22 Offence It is an offence to exhibit and train performing animals (all madaries ,snake-charmers ,bear and monkey performers are covered under this Section.Animal " joyrides " are also covered under this Act.) Under govt. notification GSR 619(E)dated 14 – 10 -98 .circuses may naot use the following animals for training or exhibition :Bears ,Monkeys,Snakes ,Tigers,Panthers,Lions . Penalty The offender may be punished with a fine of five hundred rupees or with imprisonment which may extend to three months or with both There are lots of fallacies about snakes which raw group is trying to eradicate through education Awareness at schools as well as village levels .
