Monday, January 15, 2007 (Bangalore):

 

Cattle of various shapes and sizes got to strut their stuff on the

ramp in Bangalore on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the harvest

festival.

 

They all had just one thing on their minds-- the Rang de Sankranti

crown for the best dressed cow or bull.

 

The judge had a tough time choosing the winner.

 

" I'd rather not make a choice but I have been told that each one

will get something, " said Kavita Lankesh, judge.

 

But after some strutting, flaunting and even some wardrobe

malfunctions, there were winners and losers.

 

The winner was Gowri, dressed in lights that would give even disco

dancer Mithun da a run for his money. Close behind were Raghu Star

and Southern Empire.

 

But even as these three walked away with the prizes, the losers were

not left disappointed as there were consolation prizes.
