who gave you the right to remove any animals that belong to wild nature, and

people in hk, under such a nasty name " aggressive, weak, old " !?

 

3-AFCD is working together with representative from all sectors of

did you include any animal associations? environment representative?

 

4-...to work with the cattle/buffaloes problems...

 

cattles/buffaloes have not been any problems! they lived in this planet longer

than human's history! the only problem is their peaceful lives are in the way of

our human/economic activities, and that we dont want to see any animals/living

creatures that do not shape like us!!! and we want to destroy more lands and

greens which balance our eco-system!!!

 

5- i'm writing on behalf of animal-lovers, as a part of community, to urge you

to release these peaceful n gentle wild animals, to again live harmlessly in our

nature green land! As they belong to the nature and the people of hk!

Dear Mary,

 

Thank you for Mr. Lam's enquiry through Government Hotline of 2-10-2006 and your

email of 6-10-2006.

 

The capture of the water buffalo in the operation undertaken by AFCD on 27th

September 2006, was in response to complaints received by AFCD and a meeting

held by South Lantau Rural Committee on Sunday 24th September, where the local

community expressed concerns as to the danger posed by the buffalo in Pui O.

 

Water buffalo were removed on the basis of aggressive, older, and weak

animals. This had been achieved by studying the herd, and removing on the basis

of the above criteria.

 

AFCD is working together with representatives from all sectors of the

community, including NGOs and local residents to work on the local cattle /

buffalo problem.

 

We should be grateful if you would convey our message to Mr. Lam.

As a government department, AFCD should educate people how to care about our

natures, and our closet neigbours-animals(who play roles in babalncing our

ecology system),and live with them in harmony,but not killing animals and

destroying their lives!

 

unfortunately your department captured and poached wild animals who are

peacefully dwelling in far suburban areas, and caged them for slaughtering

auction! Such as the wild buffaloes and cows your department captured last week

in lantau! this is totally unacceptable! AFCD has tresspassed/deprived their

living rights, as these gentles buffaloes are living far from people and quietly

in wilds!

 

It's the human/economy activities which have been taking away their foods and

homelands, its our faults to make them homeless over the past years!

And now we are doing even much more to harm this gentle animals who have worked

hard in the 80's for farmers to support their lives!

 

I urge your departmant to release these harmless animals and set their lives

free, as we are all equal in this living planet! We are not superior to any

living animals and we could not live without them!!!! Human have been doing

everything to destroy animals' lives who have been acting as an environmental

ecology catalysts!!!! when the species are extinct from our world, natural and

environmental disasters will make even more casualties andeconomy loss!

 

Please let those vegetarian buffaloes go back to their own lands and continue to

survive in wild, we want to see cows n bafffaloes in natures when we next time

go to greens!
