Guest guest
Hi, my name is Tricia and I had been pretty much veggie (some seafood) for 11 years until I became preganant 4 years ago and all of the sudden craved pork BBQ. Now that my daughter is three and a half I have decided to go veggie again, with only dairy and eggs allowed (and free range, no GHs, humane farming). My toddler usually follows suit and has never had beef in her life, and only occassionally eats chicken nuggets (from ChicFilA only, her choice) and pork bacon. My husband eats whatever I cook and he knew me before my meat eating days so this isn't going to be a shock for his system. If he wants meat he can eat it for lunch at work. His choice. I have d to Vegetarian Times and I have ordered some cookbooks through www.paperbackswap.com (ask me about that site if you want more info) that are on their way. What I am wondering is which pre-packaged meals are good ones in a pinch when I am not creating things from scratch? There seems to be so many more choices on the market these days. I shop at Earth Fare and Whole Foods almost exclusively.Does anyone have any brand named favorites or brands they think taste like cardboard (There are some frozen pizzas out there that taste like cardboard to me!) so I should stay away from? Peace, Tricia Andrews
Guest guest
Amy's brand has some good meals. And as far as magazines go, I would order Veg News, it's much better than Vegetarian Times, in my opinion. Guest guest
Hi Tricia and welcome. Staples in our house are: Fantastic Foods instant refried beans, brown rice (I cook every few weeks and freeze), whole wheat tortillas (burritos and quick pizzas), whole wheat pasta (Bella Terra is the best we have tried), Muir Glen pasta sauce, Trader Joes frozen organic fruits and veggies, tofu, various Indian and other Asian sauces. Trader Joes organic four cheese pizza is really good.
