Ashutosh Gowarikar`s 'Jodha Akbar' has run intotroublewith rights activists alleging that animals used in the shooting have been ill-treated. A complaing was lodged by People for Animals activist Naresh Kadyan. " But no FIR has been lodged as yet because we have to collect the facts related to the allegations, " Amber station house officer Raghuraj Singh said. The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, too, has asked Gowarikar whether he took permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India for using animals in the film.
