success story

VetCharity is an Australian based not-for-profit charity which

works in animal welfare programs in Asia and the Pacific. While it

is a non-denominational organisation, many of the projects are in

Buddhist areas and some of the members are directly living the

Buddhist philosophy of relieving suffering in sentient beings and

saving animal's lives. We do this in Buddhist communities, Tibetan

refugee areas and holy places. Our projects have the blessing of

many including HH Dalai Lama, HH Karmapa, The Tibetan

Government-in-Exile. The Venerable Dekhung Gyaltsey Rinpoche, Lama

Zopa Rinpoche and Venerable Tenzin Palmo.

VetCharity relies on donations to provide medicines, rabies

vaccinations and emergancy veterinary care to animals in places

like Sikkim, Ladakh, Bodhgaya, Dharamsala, Sri Lanka, Bali and the

Pacific Islands. Please save lives today by making a donation.

Many communities resort to killing dogs to control their numbers

and also control rabies which is spread to people by dogs. This is

usually done via shooting, poisoning, drowning, electrocution or

beating to death. VetCharity programs have prevented thousands of

dogs and cats from being slaughtered in these inhumane ways and

and effectively controlled rabies in the animals and people in the

communities in which we work.

VetCharityOrg is changing it's name to Vets Beyond Borders. Look for our new

website soon. Quotes - The Buddha - When a man has pity on all living

creatures then only is he noble.

PROJECT PROFILE

Dharamsala Veterinary Care Project.

Run in conjunction with Tibet Charity Denmark, work started in

this month in Dharamsala, home of His Holiness Dalai Lama and the

Tibetan Government in Exile. We are treating many sick and injured

dogs daily, providing sterilization and rabies vaccinations to the

community including the TCV childrens orphanage where 2 children

died of rabies last year following dog bites. Field camps will

begin shortly to service the outlying areas including Tashi Jong,

Bir and the asociated monasteries and nunneries.
