Dear Nilesh and Everyone,

First, Nilesh, thank you for all the energetic work that PAWS ASIA does in

helping so many animals and birds in distress. You set an example for all

of us in what you are accomplishing, and we'd like to thank you for that!

I enjoyed meeting you at the AFA Conference!

R u going to continue focus on these 5 NGO's? Can other NGO's also join in?

To reply to your questions:

Yes, until the end of the India Campaign, at the end of June, Best Friends

will continue to focus on these five NGO's (CUPA, Blue Cross of India,

Wildlife SOS, Friendicoes SECA, and Visakha SPCA). 100% of funds raised

during this campaign will go directly to these organizations and will be

divided equally among them. Best Friends will match the first $10,000

raised.

India is a country blessed by a great many worthwhile animal organizations.

To offer any real help, a selection needs to be made. The choice Best

Friends made was very clear and straightforward; to focus on those groups

that we had visited and seen firsthand.

" Can other NGO's also join in? " Yes and No. During June other

organizations will not be able to be included as recipients of funds raised

by the India Campaign and will not be featured in the News section of the

India Community.

However, other NGO's may benefit during the India Campaign, and become known

to a wider base, in the following ways:

by joining the Best Friends Network and the India Community (being

visible in the Members sections),

by posting comments and participating in Forums (which we hope to

have up soon),

by having stories posted in the Blog section (to include a link to

their website), by being included, with a link, in the

Resources section, by starting a Blog (including links to their website), or

by starting a Network Community (with links to their website)

Steps one and two above can be done by anyone at anytime. The third steps

are best done through coordination with Joellen Secondo, Editor of the India

Network Community, or myself, Sharon St. Joan, Co-Editor.

Joellen and I are both members of AAPN; you will have our email addresses,

and you can also reach us through the Best Friends Network mail, or through

sending a message to the " Manager of the Community " on the India Community

site. We'll be happy to hear from you! (We also welcome and need help with

editing and writing!)

After the ending of the India Campaign, the five NGO's, and any other India

NGO that is helping animals, will be starting out on equal footing on the

India Community, with no distinctions among them. We hope that everyone

with an interest in animals in India, whether from India, from Asia, or from

anywhere in the world, will join the India Community on the Best Friends

Network.

This expansion of the India Network Community will make the community more

interesting, more beneficial, more inclusive of everyone involved, more

filled with relevant and informative news, articles, discussions, and

photos--and most important of all--better able, we hope, to be of some real

help to the animals in India--partly by showcasing the work that you all are

doing!

It is our wish that the India Network Community will complement, and work

with everyone towards a shared goal of helping India's animals, and also

with all those who have so generously and faithfully supported Indian

organizations over a great many years.

AAPN fills a special, irreplaceable role as a forum for those who share a

complex, intricate understanding of Asian animals and advocacy in Asian

animal issues.

The India Network Community strives to bring in both new members

internationally who may not be experts, but those who love animals and who

wish to learn about, develop a love for, and help Indian animals--and also

those who can share their greater experience with Indian animals.

It is with tremendous respect and admiration for your expertise, your

knowledge and for your courage in facing any obstacle, that we invite all of

you to share some of your insights and experiences of the animals of India,

by joining the India Network Community on the Best Friends Network.

We hope you'll accept our invitation! Nilesh, many thanks for your

questions!

To visit, and join if you wish, the Best Friends Network India Community,

please go to:

http://india.bestfriends.org

Many thanks!

Best regards,

Sharon

Dear Sharon,

Thank you for your kind & positive reply.

My charity PAWS does not accept any foreign contribution. So my intention is

not seek any funds from abroad. I just wanted to publish some of our

regular & active work on your of joleen's blog or community.

(But we do accept donation in kind like rescue equiments, pet carriers, food

& medicines etc. As u know Joellen brought lot of stuff which includes

medicines, food, collers & chains, bowls. All stuff was useful in our

ambulances & nearst shelters.)

Since you have already accepted this than I am joining & posting my stuff.

Thanks a million!

Nilesh
