Regarding population management of animals, this paper by John Aspinall is

interesting :

He suggested mass culling of humans in this speech at an animal rights

conference in Cambridge in 1977. John Aspinall was a close friend of the

Indian tiger conservationist Billy Arjan Singh and visited Dudhwa National

Park and offered his support to the reintroduction of the famed hybrid

tigress Tara. He was an exceptional zoo director who believed in animal

rights.
