The IT sleuths found two snow leopard skins, a deer skin and two horns of antelopes during a raid yesterday at the Rajpur Road residence of K Narasimha, a 1991 batch IAS officer, they said. All the items were seized and Narasimha, a secretary of the Mizoram government, has been handed over to the wildlife department for interrogation. The raid at Narasimha's residence was carried out in connection with the recovery of Rs 66 lakh from his possession at a hotel in Hyderabad last month. Narasimha has given a statement before the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) in Hyderabad on October 24, maintaining that he had nothing to do with the cash. He claimed the money was given to him by Radisson Hotel managing director Ramesh Kapoor to hand over to one U S Das, an employee of a Bhubaneswar-based private firm. IT sleuths had also recovered Rs 2.88 crore in cash from Kapoor at the Hyderabad airport on October 23. Officials suspect Narasimha was acting as a " broker " in a land deal for a hotel project in Hyderabad by the Radisson group. Meanwhile, the wildlife department has registered a case against Narasimha under two different sections of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. The court of Additional Chief Matropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain today directed Narasimha to file a reply within 15 days. (PTI)
