Elephant polo: British Green Party Member of European Parliament sends protest to Cartier

Thank you for your email of last year about elephant polo. Please excuse the

long delay in responding, caused primarily by staff sickness.

 

Caroline was horrified to learn about elephant polo and has written to

Cartier urging them to end their sponsorship of the events. Although she has

some influence as an MEP, this does not extend to the Indian authorities or

business sponsors, so she cannot really do more than take this up in a

personal capacity with Cartier. She is very grateful that you have brought

it to her attention and for your commitment to animal welfare.

 

I apologise again that it has taken so long to get back to you.
