Terengganu Wildlife and National Park assistant director Nurullza Wagiman believed the snakes and pangolins were left there while awaiting to be sent to other destinations. He said about 600 boxes containing snakes and some 50 boxes with pangolins were found in some bushes at the jetties about 8am yesterday by villagers who then informed the department. He said the department also made another seizure of snakes and pangolins from three lorries about 1km from the jetty. However, he said no one was arrested. He believed some of the snakes were smuggled from Indonesia and Thailand. – Bernama --\ -------------------------------Tuesday November 14, 2006 Dolphins seen near coastline KUALA TERENGGANU: Villagers have sighted dolphins close to the coastline here. They spotted a dozen dolphins off Bukit Rakit, yesterday evening. The sighting comes only days after plenty of sea cucumbers washed up along Batu Burok shores last Thursday. Local folks are keeping vigil, hoping to catch a glimpse of the sea mammals. One villager, Ishak Derus, 49, claimed that five of the dolphins had beached themselves but were rescued and released into the sea by some fishermen. This is the first time that the mammals had came close to the shore.
