ELEPHANT RACE IN THE NAME OF GOD IN KERALA TEMPLE.....I AM TOLD THE

RACE WAS ORGANIZED TODAY ALSO.

 

<The ten-day festival begins with the elephant race, which is a unique

event here. The winning elephant is accorded the previlege of carrying

the deity's idol (the Thidambu) on special occasions for one year>

Question: Any idea what the Animal Welfare Board of India has been

doing over the years to get this thing blocked. ?
