The rhino is lonely, sad and has never had a mate, in fact he has had no love life for over 21 years. Recently, in a unique plan the municipal corporation in Mumbai proposed to find him a mate in Thailand. In exchange the Mumbai zoo would have also got exotic species to display. All this to the annoyment of animal rights activists, which had dragged the civic body to court. To be sent to Ranchi Officials say as per the Bombay High Court's July 2005 order Shiva should be sent to a Ranchi Zoo where a female Rhino Kanchi is waiting for him. Even as the Ranchi zoo authorities are ready to take Shiva to his new home their counterparts in Mumbai are still not willing. But it's a long story of loneliness. Several animals are mateless in the Mumbai zoo for years with no hope of finding a soul mate. Thailand is also known as the sex tourism capital of the world visited by millions of tourists.
