Forty-five of the crocodiles are of a species common to the Kerala region of India. The other one is an estuarine crocodile, a slightly larger animal. The park was designed by India's Central Zoo Authority and will feature a lot of greenery. There also is a plaque at the entrance that features a likeness of Irwin with a crocodile. All of the animals will be kept " in big ponds to give more freedom to the animals, " said Radha Krishnan Nair, the park's wildlife warden. " This is a new concept. " Irwin died last year when his chest was punctured by a stingray barb. He was filming a documentary on the ocean's deadliest animals.
