Guest guest
on 29th evening at arround 5.00 PM a person came to me and told that A bird probably duck or some migratory bird is entangled with Kite string on a small branch of atree in Shivpuri Area of Ludhiana. The PFA Hospital was approached but Hopital was closed.Irang to DFO office noone was there,so I asked him to reach at site and take help from any labrourer ,and contacted Deputy Chief Wildlife Warden,Gurmeet singh and Conservator of Forests Jalandhar. But no response came from DFO then I requested Chief Conservator(Zoos)Mr.Kuldeep Kumar he told me that though Ludhiana Tiger Safari is closed but he will send someone from there. In the meanwhile The Person Sumit Jain informed that noone is ready as it is avery small branch on top of tree and a crane machine has been sumoned. Then a keeper of Tiger Safari,Narinder Singh informed me that he is reaching at site. Then the bird was brought down from tree Top and strings were removed from his feet and legs.It was identified as Large or Great Egret.Narinder spryed medicines on the abrasions and bleeding points and took the bird in his custody to tiger Safari. The next afternoon he informed that Bird was OK and it was set free. This shows respect of life of a bird ,as he paid from his pocket to get it freed. It is usually felt that Govt. Deptts. always run short of resources/equipments /vehicles etc. in case of such emergencies.
