Guest guest
Link: http://www.orissatv.com/news_details.asp?ID=3602 Elephant menace in Koraput district Jeypore: On Monday night, a herd of elephant demolished the house of Bishi Saanta of Kusumbhata village under kebidi panchayat of Jeypore block. Bishi and his wife Salu managed to escape to a safe place. However, they could not save their two children, Chumita and Gupta who were crushed to death by the marauding animals. It is not for the first time that herds of elephants have intruded these areas in search of food. People have alleged that the forest department does not inform them about the elephants beforehand. 10 days back Meti muduli fell victim to the wild elephants. But her family is yet to get any assistance. After the death of Gupta and Chumita, tension has prevailed in the area. Meanwhile, the forest department has sanctioned rupees Rupees 30,000 from red cross fund for Bishi Saanta.
