A Pachyderm Polo match hosted by Cartier? I'll bet socialities were

falling over themselves to get an invitation to the game! Guess

Cartier was hoping that by promoting this as an " animal awareness "

campaign they would dissuade protesters, but that didn't work, did

it? :)

Beautiful pictures and thank you for making us aware of this event.

How beautiful. And how sad that the even was tainted. Awareness to

animals is important but obviously paiting them was more important!

Regardless of the merits of Cartier and high society involvement,

this seems like a noble cause. Lovely pics by the way!

The pictures are beautiful... but poor elephant.. I don't think they

really wanted to be painted. I don't think we'd like if they painted

us to photograph :D

Hay this is cool. Elephant is looking so sweet! But me too think, how

the elephant must be feeling when he was getting painted...

I dont think that there is any problem to paint a living animal

The only problem is to find a secure painting

These elephants are beautifully decorated. Let us imagine a man or a

woman: in some African tribes for instance there are customs to wear

painting to be beautifuller, why would it be bad for an animal ?

I had lost your website link. I just saw you listed on D's

blogroll " Blog Full of Crap " and jumped on the chance to say " HI! " I

can't remember if you knew me as " Silvermoon " or " GEL " because I've

used both names in blogland. I'm only using GEL now.)

These are gorgeous photos. I'm for animal rights but I don't know if

painting them is dangerous to them? I hope not. I think it's very

important to reaise awareness about their population declining.

(My new blogsite link is on this comment.)

Take care :)

I think the elephants look beautiful...I am not sure how well a polo

match on elephants would work but i guess it made its point, got the

attention of the international so ciety due toe cartier's presence

and the animal rights groups, therefore inherently catching the

attention of the common man one way or the other.
