Rhino killed by poachers

Jorhat, Dec 2: The carcass of a male rhino, allegedly killed by

poachers, was recovered by Forest officials in Kaziranga National

Park. Park Director DM Singh told PTI here that the carcass of the

rhino, killed about two weeks ago, was recovered from Longker Chapori

under Aghoratoli Range near the Brahmaputra river on Thursday. Six

rhinos have been killed by poachers so far since January this year and

the police have arrested 10 rhino poachers this year. Most of the

poachers are from neighbouring Karbi Anglong and Sonitpur districts.
