(IN): Miscreants burn alive Humans and Cattle

NAGA miscreants today shot dead and burnt alive 2 persons and at least a

dozen cattle in a gruesome massacre in a village in Assam state`s district

Sivasagar under Gelekey Police Station.

 

From visuals aired on Northeast television ( local sattellite chanell ) the

cattle it was clear that the miscreants carried out a ruthless attack on

innocent villagers killing two of them in the spot and burning the cattle

which were tied in the shed.

The miscreants then destroyed tea plantations in the adjoining area before

fleeing the spot.

 

Many of the seriously injured persons are being treated in a hospital nearby

and some of the cows which have survived bullet wounds have also been

treated for after the bullets were removed.

 

Two powerful students organisations in Assam have called for a 12 hour

Sivasagar district 'bandh ( closure ) from 5am tomorrow to protest against

the incident.
