Prabhat Boro 22, of Rani Puranabari has undergoing treatment at GMCH as wild tusker attacked him when he was guarding his paddy field. Jogen Rabha, 30 of Jaipur 6 km away from Rani, reportedly suffered a fracture when he fell down from a tree-house, Pabin Das of Mairapur, near Rani, was trampled upon recently when he was guarding his paddy field. Depredation by elephants has become a recurrent problem for the farmers of areas like Jaipur, Garopara, Bhalukmari, Challi, Townpara, Belguri, Sajanpara, Chakardoi under West Guwahati constituency. Mani Orang, 22, of Nalapara and Prahlad Rabha, 42, were trampled to death by wild elephant respectively in 2004 and 2005. But government is allegedly yet to pay any compensation.
