Guest guest
Dog attack case ends today-Malay Mail By NURADZIMMAH DAIM WONG Chin Choong's troubles began after his dog bit a government officer. The 36-year-old now faces a jail term and a fine for refusing to allow his dog to be impounded by City Hall officers. Wong, who does car paint jobs, was accused of obstructing the officers from discharging their duties, together with mechanic G. Parinpathasan, 26, on Aug 22 last year at 3pm at Bengkel Wira Motorshop, 60MT2, Jalan Jubilee, off Jalan Loke Yew. The offence, under Section 186 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum three months' jail and a fine up to RM1,000. Prosecuting officer D. R. Ganthi Nathan appealed for the case to be postponed as he had yet to receive the investigation paper. Sentencing was supposed to be held yesterday. It was reported that the duo had refused to let City Hall officers impound the pit bull terrier, which was alleged to have attacked Housing and Local Government Ministry's monitoring and enforcement division director, Dr G. Parameswaran. The dog was alleged to have bitten Parameswaran's right leg on Aug 19 at the workshop where the accused worked. At that time, the dog was chained to a door and bit Parameswaran, 52, who was at the workshop to get his car repaired. The accused will know their fate today when hearing resumes before magistrate Mursyida Abdul Halim.
