Submissions Requested for International Animal Rights Film Festival in Ukraine October 4, 2007

Dear Kim!

Ten years have passed since the establishment of our organization the

Centre for the Ethical Treatment of Animals " Life " named after Leo

Tolstoy. During the whole period of our existence, the Centre has

been actively carrying out numerous campaigns and public activities

on animal welfare. As far as you know one of the new directions of

our struggle is shooting documentary and feature films on animal

rights.

Since cinema with its unusual and universal remedy is the best and

the most available and open way to bring and display rights

protection problem to people, our centre is determined to organize

Annual International Rights Protection Film Festival " Steps " for

which many public organizations and filmmakers from all over the

world could submit their works on environmental protection, human and

animal rights issues. We are aware that cinematograph is significant

and inspirational ways of influence on people who are able to create

hearty society for hearty beings.There is no doubt that the

organization of such festival is one more step towards the expansion

of rights protection activity.

The Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the

Union of Filmmakers of Ukraine, WSPA and others.

The Festival will be held in Kiev on 4 October 2007 the World Animal

Day, at Movie House. After the nomination ceremony in Kiev the

festival will move and will be held in Kharkov, Jalta, Moscow and

other cities.

We have already received films from different countries. To implement

the Festival is possible under your assistance and collaboration. In

such a great project first of all we need your organisation's or your

friends' works, probable promotion of the Festival by your newspaper.

All the films submitted to the Festival will be translated into

Russian and Ukrainian and get as well numerous audience.
