Wounded Jumbo Calf treated with love and care. By staff reporter, Rinky ,the nineteenth month old elephant that was brought to the college of veterinary Science after it was struck by a speeding bus in Nagaon on Nov.28th,is undergoing treatment at the AUU campus. Adoctor attending to Rinki that the elephant suffered serious injuries on the spianal cord and on the back side.the doctor said, " we are keeping it under medical treatment and the pain has subsided a lot, " .he further added that a lift structure with a pully would have to be built for further treatment of the elephant.Md. habibur Rahman Laskar, the owner of the elephant have been with her for the last few days .Rinki was struck twice by the bus after which the driver fled " , he said. She was brought to the college on the night of Nov.30th. Meanwhile People For animals, guwahati ,today donated Rs. 10,000 for the treatment of Rinki. " We have also arranged for straw, a tripal and food.we have intimated the wildlife trust of india about the incident and some help should be forthcoming. " Sangeeta Goswami, Chairperson said.
