Guest guest
www.sentinelassam.com Majuli jumbo draws attention again From a Correspondent JORHAT, Dec 21: There is new twist to the tale of the tusker terrorising villagers in the vicinity of Kamalabarighat in Majuli. Forest Department officials who visited the Goriasapori near Kamalabarighat where the elephant has put up for the last few days, said that they had sighted a chain dangling from one of its legs. This has led to the conjecture that the elephant may have been domesticated and later broken free and returned to the wild. Forest department officials further said that though the elephant was injured and maimed and a piece of its flesh had also fallen on the road, the wound was superficial and was in the process of healing.
