OT: A plea to all mamas

I apologize for the off-topic post, and promise to not do it again, but thought

no one better than another mama to help this 'momma' in great need. As many of

you may know, I'm very involved with dog rescue. I'm currently volunteering

with the Stark County Pound in Canton, Ohio. Dogs are always in danger of

euthanasia there, but the shelter tries to get as many out as possible. Cage 4,

who I call Momma was set to go to a rescue this morning and it fell through.

She needs another safe, loving place to go right away. She was picked up stray

- completely engorged w/milk, and no one bothered to look for her babies. As a

nursing mama myself, I can imagine the incredible pain she must feel - both

emotional and physical. Please help me find her a home or rescue. Pass this on

to any animal lovers you know. She is fully vaccinated and sweet as can be.

Come on mamas, let's save this Momma!

She is sponsored - making her adoption/rescue fee only $35, and that's

refundable once she is spayed. I can help arrange transport if you are not in

NE Ohio.

Her profile: Picked up as a stray on 10/14. HW negative, flea treated, wormed,

rabies, bordetella and 5 way. SAFER A. We think whoever picked this dog

up as a stray left her litter of puppies behind. Maybe she was out

looking for food. She is very skinny and engorged with milk. 28 lbs.

Adoption fee of $62 includes license, 5 way shot, bordetella nasal

vaccine. (donated shots; as supplies are available) and refundable $35

spay/neuter deposit. We take CASH ONLY, no checks, or credit cards.

Because most of our dogs in the kennel are strays, we do not have any

knowledge about each individual dog's background, so we cannot make any

health claims or behavior assurances concerning our dogs. We offer a

hold system, but please be advised that more than one person can put a

" hold " on the same dog. (The person with the first hold may adopt the

dog on the day it can go...72 hrs after its been at the pound; if the

first hold doesn't show, the second hold gets the dog, etc) Please call

the pound at 330-451-2343 to check on the dog's availability before

driving a long distance. Rescue groups with 501©3 status can pull a

dog for a reduced fee, but must show documentation of non-profit status
