Local dog show on April 16

GUWAHATI, April 13 – In an effort to arouse interest of the people to

adopt local dogs as pets, People for Animals is going to hold a dog

show (local only) on April 16 at Latashil field. The organizers claim

that the annual event in the agenda of the organization has succeeded

in changing the perception of the people who had hankered after

pedigree dogs that came at exorbitant prices.

 

According to Sangeeta Goswami heading the organization, the show of

local dogs had seen large number of people coming forward to get a

local dog. " Last year, a record number of five hundred pups were

adopted from our People for Animals Hospital and Shelter, " informed

Goswami, adding that if every Indian home adopted an Indian dog, the

problem of stray dogs could be solved to a great extent.
