Durian smells so bad the Asian stores here freeze the whole fruit on plastic

bags. Once you take a taste if you can get it past your nose, it's delicious.

I love it, never seen it in a mooncake, I just cut the fruit and eat.

It's banned in some of the hotels in Phuket. My ex had to toss one when he hit

the lobby area.LOL

I don't have a splatter guard or a silicone handle thingy for my cast iron pans.

I'm such a hardcore cast iron cook that I never thought about it. I will look

for those now. I do have recipes for baking in the cast iron. I'll try to

locate and post. I was waiting to hear you liked your pan first. Donna

Yup..I've seen them at Target & BB & B...a couple years back I bought

a regular wok from BB & B & I use it all the time, it sits on the

stove and is made of heavy metal (I'm awful, don't know what kind),

like cast iron you rinse it without soap, it is huge and I can do

big stir fries in it which I needed.

By the way Donna & all, I am loving my cast iron skillet - I got a

12 inch one & have used it regularly since I got it - I splurged and

got a splatter guard with it, which has been great - I also got a

silicone thingy that slips on the handle which I really love - I'm

eager to try a frittata type recipe with it, since I can put it in

the oven (the skillet not the silicone thingy).

Any of you familiar with durian? My friends in Singapore bought

moon cakes last week and ended up with one containing durian...they

all steered clear of it, though encouraged the kids to try it, the

older boys would not, the 2 year old girl took a bite and loved it

and devoured the whole thing. She then spent the evening giggling

as she breathed durian breath on every one and the parents said she

was stinky gassy the next day...
